For me silence is not just an absence of sound

It’s a combination of experiences usually never found

While looking out my window I wished the birds would quiet down

Just so I can feel like I can hear the sunrays hitting town

Silence is a language that will never be spoken

Never will new frequencies hit my ear

Silence is a bond that will never be broken

Even when loudness feels so near

Silence is just a way of letting experiences linger

Like the feeling of a tiny hand wrapped around your finger

Silence shows us the power of noise

And when it is appropriate to use our voice

But silence is also a way to show love

And appreciation to our world from a viewpoint above

Just so we embrace the way that we are

Because there is a reason we made it this far

In a world where everything is accompanied by a host

Silence shows us what we need the most
