POEM STARTER

Write a poem that only involves dialogue.

Remember dialogue has to be between two or more people; it cannot be a monologue. Try to make it clear which voice is speaking when.

The Words We Never Say

"I love you," I said at her, not to her.

"I love you too," she said to someone else.

"I understand," I told her, not knowing.

"I'm sorry," she didn't say, but she expected me to.

"Is there someone else?" I asked rhetorically.

"No, of course not," she lied confidently.

"Are you okay?" I asked, ready to ignore.

"I'm fine," she answered, never truthfully.

"Do you still love me?" she asked, one foot on the train.

"I do," I said, lost at the previous station.
