POEM STARTER

The Scars on Our Hearts
Write a poem which could have this as the title.
Forget You: The Scars on Our Hearts
Once scarred, they now bleed
Thick drops dripping from an open wound
Reopened by sharp claws
Digging into my heart
I cry,
Tears spilling from my eyes
Openings into my heart,
My soul
Must you torture me?
You’re supposed to love me!
It’s what everyone says
“Unconditional love”
You say “tough love”
But I say no
That’s cruel!
You say I should be grateful for the leeway you’ve already given me
So much I don’t get in trouble for doing
Don’t get punished for
Except I do
I have phonophobia
You seem to keep forgetting that
You know what that is, right?
You yell
Scream
My ears are ringing
You’ve forgotten yet again
I have a fear of loud noises
These scars
All caused by you
They can never heal
Unless I learn not to trust you
Believe you
Love you
I need to forget
Forget everything
All the pain
More than the love & any good memories
Not more memorable than all the pain
I need to forget you
