‘Diamonds are beautiful, but they are also strong.’

This phrase is discriminatory and so many levels of wrong.

So what if we are born weak and damaged beyond repair?

It doesn’t make us any less beautiful or live with less care.

Instead of hurting ourselves beyond our limits,

We could take a deep breath and accept our tibits.

Living within our means and enjoying what we can,

Life is hard enough, we tried, doing the best we can.

So the next time we feel obligated to push ourselves again,

Ask, is this urgent or could we prioritize our health until then?

We the busy bees need to take care to rest.

To take a break from the non-stop to be our best.

Our best may not be a diamond or strong,

But weakness is human and beauty doesn’t last long.
