STORY STARTER

In a society where everyone has a carefully-matched arranged marriage, your character is the first person who wants to marry for love.

Uhmmm

It was a year ago that I met her. We clicked immediately. I was scrutinizing over my life decisions when a girl with glowing honey blond hair hair and deep blue eyes walked up to me. She took me out of it, no matter what I do I will never be able to pay her back for it.

However it was too good to be true. The pastor of my church brainwashed most parents in my society, and the ones who went against it were treated like outcasts. The “it” was a rule, which said that parents have the responsibility to make the decision of who their children marry. And my parents had just happened to schedule my first “date” tomorrow.

I woke to my mom dumping a bowl of cereal and milk on my head. “Here have some breakfast,” she said while I sputtered on milk. “Eww, this one was grape,” for some reason that was the first thing that occurred to me. Before I knew it I was sitting in front of this girl who looked so lost, that she may have wandered in on accident. “Hi!” her voice shocked me, her dainty body looked nothing like her powerful, commanding voice. “Oh my gawd they are perfect she’s a lawyer he’s a surgeon, and she’ll give him what he needs,” my parents whispered behind me. Then her parents jumped in, “Ok this is perfect they can get married now!” “Uh huh,” to my shock my parents agreed, but I think my hunger was getting to me since a bowl of cereal dumped over your head isn’t really a breakfast because I probably shouldn’t have said what I said next. “Uhh no I’m sorry, um IM GAY!”
