Cuts and slashes,

Into my heart.

Broken and shattered,

Two halves, apart.

My pieces all fell to the ground,

Never to be recovered.

Crying these tears,

Ok? Me? No, never…

Makeup covers,

The mascara stains in my face,

Always a fraud,

Never winning the race.

But building up from the ground,

From something so dire,

I’m almost a phoenix,

Rising from the fire.

To those who loved my broken beauty,

But now hate my healed beauty,

I will never understand you.

I wish you the best,

As I continue to improve,

But I’m afraid,

You can’t continue.
