It Still Worked

“That was probably the worst idea you have ever had… and yet it worked.” My partner, James, exclaimed while still catching his breath from the run.

I shrugged, “Sometimes it’s the most unexpected things g to at end up being the most useful.” I replied.

I stood up straight and looked behind, “It looks like we lost them but we’re better keep going just to be sure.”

James nodded and we took off again. James held the bag with the things our mentor asked for. I made sure we weren’t being followed. It was fairly easy stealing all this stuff. Though I admit, I was really just joking when I suggested the idea.

Our mentor, the master of thievery, gave each of his apprentices the task and being the first to steal three certain items. A clean silver spoon, a old lamp, and a expensive diamond ring. Unfortunately, our mentor had chosen our partners for us. To be honest, I always thought James was just another one of those snobby boys who thought they were better than everyone else. But he’s not really like that.

We were at our last stop, an expensive jewelry store, the one with the highest security. Me and James were trying to figure out the best way to get in. I really just tried to make a joke when I suggested sneaking through the vents. I didn’t think James would take it seriously but then here we were. Crawling through the vents and making our way inside. Of course, the police are always a few steps behind, so we obviously had to go on a bit of a run.

Though, James was right, that was the most stupidest idea eve for something g with as high of security. And yet it worked. We made it to the sewer point and once we hopped n we began making our way to the lair, were our mentor awaits. I felt like these things were too easy, so I was cautious of the artifacts we held. The government and police have been trying to figure out we out layer I’d ands who is directing these foolish teenagers. Though I think they are the fools.
