his hands jerk across the keys

he doesn’t quite know how to play

but he watches my hands closely

he watches the video,

i adjust his hands for the right fingering

piano is not one for the faint of heart

he has no faint heart though,

watching him improvise, making

it up as he goes,

the way he moves to the melody

i don’t know this feeling…

it’s like a what if.

what if i did fall for him?

what if i didnt?

what if he played the keys right?

what if he didnt?

because this feeling,

it’s too close to being a crush

there is too much confusion

to deal with that,

but he’s finally figuring out how to play

and i don’t know quite how i feel.
