POEM STARTER
Write a poem about choosing between following your heart or following your head.
Falling (In Love Or Into A Pit)
(I’m probably going to post a part of Cornered: The Returning War tomorrow or Monday. Bark. Hope you have a great day!)
Head:
Stop. Just, stop. It’s useless to dream of the impossible. It’s idiotic to believe in one sided love turning out to be mutual.
They don’t love you, they never will. They are taken— or they just don’t feel the same.
Get over it! They are gone. They never even loved you romantically.
You are stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Heart:
But… what if? What if they care as much as I do? What if they love me? What if it could work? What if?
Head:
It’s only ever going to be an “if” and hypothetical, nothing more.
Always and forever a hopeless romantic.
Heart:
…why do I always fall for people who treat me half decently?
Head:
Cuz, you’re bar is in hell and you fall too fast and too hard.
You fall for people because they treat you like you’re a human.
Gosh, raise you standards and don’t get hurt.
Heart:
But I don’t deserve to be treated well…
Head:
Yes, you do. You need to realize that.
Heart:
You sound like Tominos so much right now!!!
Head:
Well, you should listen to her because she is right.
Heart:
Never expected to hear that- especially not from you.
Head:
Welp, I said it and you better listen.
