If only someone had told my younger self things would work out,

Because then she might have had hope,

During the times when hope would have helped her stay alive.

If only she knew how good it got,

And how much better it is going to get from here,

Maybe then her tears would stop.

If only she found out that we write now,

And didn’t hide it.

If only she knew that we were dancing together,

On stage alone, instead of a group.

Spotlight on us,

And we rack our heads for the next movement.

If only she knew that I’m now living the life she only dreamed of,

And I’m sure my future self is saying these same things.

Because it only gets better from here.

Sure, it’ll fluctuate,

But steadily climbing up,

It only gets better.

If only my younger self knew that we had this potential all along,

She would’ve stopped hurting herself everyday for other people.

Day after day.
