Painted in the stained glass,

The story of our upbringing,

The tale of our trust,

How I told you what l’ve hidden,

And you did the same,

Knowing you made me feel colorful,

Not once was there a cloudy day,

Our future was foretold,

Glittering from the sun,

Until it was shattered,

From a hammer in your hands.

What took days is now destroyed,

Hardworking, tired hands,

Now cut by what is know,

The fragments of safe keeping,

And my heart lies with the panes,

Broken, bleeding out,

What could’ve been flashing through,

My teary, wary eyes.

We once held a prophecy,

One with endless companionship, trust,

It now lies beneath my feet,

Unable to return,

To it’s former glory.
