If only I could shut out my brain,

That little voice that drains,

Holds me back from being glad,

And instead makes me mad.

If only I could ignore the gloom,

That suddenly clouds my mood,

And feeds me the dirt that reminds me,

Of how unhappy I feel I’ll forever be.

If only I could accept the red and pink,

Before my jealousy can began to think,

And rips out my strands, controls my hands,

With deep crimson demands.

‘If only’ is all I can say,

While I hope the pain away,

I wish to ignore, but it’s right before me,

So torment it is until I can break free.
