VISUAL PROMPT

Create a story or poem using the quote 'Wherever there is the light, the flowers will find it'.

(Lack Of) Flourishing.

The moon dangles and shines,

The sun’s gleam just brighter,

To grow the world’s life and lush,

The same lush that blocks my moment,

Deep puffs of grey cotton,

Fans of the almighty star,

Paparazzi in the sky,

Cloud the personality before I can see,

I try to escape,

But sometimes that’s not an option,

My roots leave me grounded,

A blessing, a curse.

I’m left to soak in little,

Though that seeps away fast,

My color will wilt in the static,

My hopeful petals.

I keep getting buried,

From the greed and crowds,

I’ll soon rest on the soil

Shine nowhere to be found.

I wish to not hide,

From the bright side,

But it seems the universe,

Withholds other plans in mind.

So how am I to be vibrant,

When it’s all grey scale?

When I can’t flourish,

As my support is not there?

They say, “wherever there is light,

The flowers will find it,”

But I am but a flower,

Forever shrouded in darkness.
