A Detective’s Betrayal (Part 2)
I awoke in a tight, dark space, a gag tied tightly to my mouth and the bite of cold steel chains told me I was tied to the chair I was sat on. Judging by the size, I was most likely in a large cupboard, empty except for me and the figure behind me, who was holding a knife to my throat. Looking down to the blade, I saw the muscles in the hand, wrist and forearm, not Herim.
As I calmed myself, I came to notice the slight slit of the doors in the cupboard, which allowed me to see a group of officers, their captain and Detective Herim. Judging by the situation, Herim wanted me to see what he does without me saying anything, hence the gag and knife to my skin. I narrowed my eyes, focusing on the scene unflolding before me.
“I can assure you it wasn’t a suicide.” Herim announced, pointing at a black and white photograph of the body. A tear ran down my cheek silently.
The chief officer scowled. “Care to elaborate?”
“Gladly.” The detective smirked and began to explain. “As you can tell, the knife was pushed into the stomach of the body with quite some force, leading to a quick death, which could have been easily been done by the victim. But, there is some other blood, slightly newer than the victim’s.” He indicated to a small patch dripped onto the victim’s face.
He began to pace slowly, tugging at his sleeves as he continued “A fight could have broken out between the two, before the offender decided to end the fight early, only then dripping blood onto the body while they dislodged the knife. But, because it is such a clean cut, and no one has any trouble with this simple man, I could only think this was done by someone close, a sister perhaps.”
_No. _
I gritted my teeth. _That bastard._

“What do you mean?” One of the lower officers asked, him and his comrades seemed slightly on edge.
Herim’s smirk broadened. “Chief officer, do you remember your most trusted adviser? Did you realise that they are not in this room, and haven’t been sighted since the murder?” I wish I could scream, shout, or do anything that would prevent his victory.
“Abril…? That is a very serious accusation, detective.” The chief officer replied. “But I do believe you.”
Everyone gasped. Except Herim. Except that _traitor_.
“Send everyone to search for my adviser. Bring her back alive. She will be conviened to public excecution for murder and betrayal.” The chief officer commanded and everyone exited the room in a rush. The detective remained.
He opened the cupboard door and stared directly into my eyes. “I win.”
