POEM STARTER
Write a series of haikus about the view from your window.
Haikus have a 3-line syllabic structure of 5-7-5. Perhaps your haikus can form a series of changing time, seasons, or different aspects of the view.
Peaceful
Sun shining brightly,
I sit and watch in wonder,
As my cat sleeps quietly.
Summer will soon leave,
Replaced by pumpkins and cider,
And falling gold leaves.
I will always wish,
To move forward in this life,
But not this moment
Let it all slow down,
Deep breaths filling my lungs,
The air now so still.
Sleepy tired eyes,
And a small smile growing,
Time slows to a stop.
