POEM STARTER
Write a poem exploring mistakes and redemption.
Humans are fallible, and often the best stories come from our errors. What might you discuss in this poem?
Redeemable
Tell me,
When do I become irredeemable?
If others always drew the line,
How do I know if I crossed it?
If you always claim to love me,
When will you lie?
When will the burden,
Of all my stupid flaws,
Cause me to snap,
Under the pressure?
One day I’ll run out,
Of time and excuses,
So what will I do then?
How will I become perfect enough,
To not feel shame?
You know better than I,
That true beauty is impossible.
We’re only human.
But how many errors,
Until I become less?
Will I ever wipe clean,
The blood on my hands?
Will I ever trust myself,
Not to hurt you?
Will you ever trust me?
If practice makes progress,
Than why am I falling backward?
