The Seasons Of Teal
_It’s the color of your thoughtful eyes gazing into my heart. The color of the necklace you gifted me when you said it reminded you of me. The color of tranquility and sincerity swirling together like molten gold._
It’s blue spruce trees dipped in a snowy glaze as we basked in the vivid beams of the northern lights. My cheeks were aflame despite the bitter wintry wind as we lay beneath a canopy of cotton stars, fingers laced together. The world was at a standstill, and we could just laugh and rest and _be_, and we wouldn’t have to worry what anyone else thought.
It’s chipped paint doors in the hum of late spring as we sketched out bubbly flowers and birds. Your face was taut with concentration, designing jays that fluttered to life, kingfishers that dove into cool acrylic streams. It was enchanting to see you so at ease, to see you forge beauty out of nothing.
It’s a race to the crisp river to escape the humidity, splashing and singing where the grass skimmed the sky. Hills faded in the distance and we ran till we were breathless, trying to touch the horizon. We collapsed in the meadow, young and free and full of life, never wanting anything to change. Just wanting to pause time, and live, and find ourselves together.
It’s intricate yarn weavings and glancing over to a garden overflowing with halcyon hostas at a time when life began to spill out from its sources. We made ceramic mugs and filled them with coffee to rouse ourselves enough to appreciate the magic that surrounded us at all times. To reaffirm our gratefulness to the magic that let us find each other.
Oh, how lucky we were to have found each other.
