Not Like This
Really, I’m sorry.
Never would I have thought,
That it would come to this:
Wishing I could help you,
But knowing I could never,
Because I couldn’t be happy like that.
Not like you want me to.
Flattering that you think of me
That way, I’m not lying.
Honestly you’ve become,
So much more of a friend,
Than I could ever anticipate.
Don’t act like you don’t know, though,
That no one is happy this way.
