POEM STARTER
'Handmade'
Write a poem that could have this as its title.
No Longer Handmade.
My world is carved just for you,
With tired hands, down drips dew,
On the brink of collapse,
But I pray it’ll pass,
Adds to the love I put upon you.
My soul is painted with trust,
Shared between the two of us,
A barely-holding thread,
A waste that sews in dread,
Watercolored tears fall, I fuss,
Should I really wrap myself in a bow,
If I feel like you shouldn’t be bestowed?,
I’m surely overreacting, I know,
Yet your reluctance seems to have grown.
Out of the kiln in a shiny, soft glaze,
A heart I crocheted you for many days,
Feels like nothing but a dying, ill craze,
Our love now feels bought, no longer handmade.

We’re so back 🙏🏾 I think I was actually burnt out for a few months (I mean, I wrote for like 200 days in a row; who wouldn’t be?) and especially after realizing my poem got featured (first time I’ve been featured in my 10 months of being on here btw), I feel like writing again!!
