What the difference between a house or a home?

A house you can live with others yet you’re forever alone,

A home is a place of love which honors your soul,

When a house breaks you down never to be whole,

Four walls and a ceiling built upon a hidden hole,

Where the landlord is a Devil always on patrol,

Breaking you mentally taking away your power of control,

Leaving you to live a life infected with loneliness and woe.

Leaving you hopeless like an unwanted stray animal,

Turning your thoughts against yourself you feel incompatible,

As you stare into the mirror in a fight for survival,

Against yourself falling in a downward spiral,

A vicious cycle where the only way to open your mind comes from the end of a rifle,

Where the only way we can seem to be free is a self inflicted homicidal retrial!

A house is but a doorway to a place to stay while your soul slowly dies,

While a home is the reflection of love from another’s eyes,

Where the presence of another doesn’t make you want to cry,

Rather it’s like a wow this is it kinda sigh,

That pulls you out of the dark and into the light,

When you can look at yourself in the mirror without having to hide,

Where you feel safe even in the middle of the night.

Home feels like a place that peacefully floats above the ground,

A place of love where the lost are found,

We’re past wounds can be healed by a sound,

Of the voice of a lover when heard makes your heart pound,

Out of your chest from their presence that’s so profound,

And every loving embrace is like sinking into a cloud.

The main difference between a house and a home is the doorway,

One leads to a place only found in the midst of flames,

That burns you alive and every moment is a shadow of pain,

The other leads to a place where you can dance in the rain,

That puts out the fires as joy and love heal all that remains,

A home is love whether it comes from a person or a place,

It’s both and more but with words it’s impossible to explain!

They can put 1 and 1 2gether and talk about it,

Yet they all fall short compared to the bliss,

Of a place found in myths, where 1 and 1 can be completed by a kiss,

Words can be beautiful yet they still always miss,

So I guess all we can really say about it only leaves us speechless,

Either/Or it’s up to you to decide, they are both completely mysterious,

The real answer lies within your mind, but in the end it is what it is!!!
