POEM STARTER
Was it worth it?
End your poem by challenging the audience to decide the outcome.
The Impossible Waltz
She ran from peril,
she did not want to suffer.
He ran for his life,
he did not want to die.
She liked the color of the sky,
he liked the clouds that covered it.
Neither is wrong, but neither is right,
one liked pitch black, the other liked light.
She sang to be heard,
she did not want to be silent.
He sang to hear a melody,
he did not want to lose the music.
She listened to country, him to classic.
He read thrillers, she read everything.
Neither is the best, but neither is bad,
one had no money; it was all the other had.
She cried to get her emotions out,
she did not want a trapdoor under her feet.
He cried to keep himself in check,
he did not know right from wrong.
She loved him quickly, but not for long,
He loved her later, but for forever.
Neither was right, neither was false,
but they, together, were an _impossible_ waltz.
She questioned him to know the truth,
she hated the most being lied to.
He questioned her to see if she cared,
he was always lonely, she made it worse.
She seemed to him like a timeless curse,
he seemed to her as a nagging little puppy.
Neither had a good ‘why,’ but they split,
the waltz danced a question of ‘was it worth it?’
[I wrote and posted this a while ago, but for some reason it didn’t appear? I guess. It said some people liked it, but I had several issues trying to find said writing. Anyways, thank y’all for reading. I’ve mainly been reading The Hunger Games, watching Marvel, and planning, drafting, and all that for my book. Love y’all. Thanks so much for reading.]
