Bitter With A Hint Of Sweet (pt 3)

_No recap this time, sorry! Enjoy <3_

This morning dragged out slowly. The eagerness to be in the city of Paris motivated me.

One thing I always loved about Leland was his kindness. He never once yelled at me or told me off. One day when we were kids,

“Hey, bring that back!” I screamed. Our school bullies took off with my favorite stuffed dog animal. Quickly, a boy—Leland—ran towards them. At first, I suspected he’d join in. Instead, he brought it to me.

“You okay?”

I smiled so brightly. No one had ever done that for me.

“Yeah, thank you.”

“Let me know if they're causing you trouble.” aq

“I will. Thank you.”

I never forgot that. I hope he didn’t either.

Leland and I met downstairs for breakfast. They had such a wide selection, croissants, macaroons, eggs, and meats.

“Yum,” He rubbed his hands. Preparing to dig in.

“Food eats first!”

He laughs in anticipation. I pull out my camera. Take a photo of the food, and he poses too.

“Love your silly face. Look.”

I show him and he laughs.

“Let me do you now.”

I squint my nose and put a peace sign up to my eye.

“You definitely fit in with the Parisians.”

“Thank you!” I smile.

“All you need is a hat.”

“What kind?” I squint at him.

“One of those barrets.”

I frame him with my hands.

“What are you doing?” He asks.

“Seeing if you’d look good with a barret.”

“Oh no. Go back to eating.” He teases.

“But on a serious note, we both know it’d look good.”

I playfully hit him with a napkin.

“Why? Cause you can’t help but be attracted to this face?”

I squint. “The sun is so bright, I can’t even see your humility.”

He laughs. “That was a good joke.”

“Thanks.”

“Come back again!” I tell one of the female staff, with Pink curly hair. She laughs. “No you do!”

“Bye!” I wave. And she waves back.

“You tell everyone that, don’t you?”

“Maybe!” I shrug and gallop ahead of him.

My phone rang out of the blue.

“Hello?”

“Nelima?”

“Yes, is that you Edna?”

“Oh yes, dear. Hello!”

“Hey Edna!” I exclaimed.

Leland looked at me, then smiled in understanding.

“I won’t be able to meet you guys for a while. So…oh! I found my husband. So all you have to do is enjoy yourself in Paris.”

“What?” I’m taken aback.

“Bye! Love you Nelima!”

“Bye?” She hangs up leaving me in confusion. What is she planning?

“So, I guess our itinerary is cleared.”

“What did Edna say?”

“Well, she found her husband. So I’m not sure why she had us do all of this. And I guess she’ll be there for the wedding.”

“Huh?”

“She wants us to get married.”

He smirks playfully, “Are you trying to tell me something?”

“No! no! no!” I exclaim.

He laughs.

“Let’s go.” I walk ahead of him. But I feel him burning a hole through my head.

_ This was going to be a long day. _

We walk around a little village. “They have a book stall!” I get sidetracked and race towards it.

He follows behind me, chuckling.

“What?”

“You’re just like a dog.”

“We’ve been through this before.”

“You’re right.” He messed with my hair.

“There is no way you just pet me!” I chase him.
