Wildfires

You were the storm,

Trashing and cold,

I only asked to be warm,

It got worse when I got old,

There was no escape,

Or so I thought,

You told me I needed to be reshaped,

And thought my love could be bought,

You thought I was a match,

A flame in the wind,

To which you would latch,

Giving me the guilt you pinned,

But I am much more than a simple flame,

I am a wildfire,

And you can cast me all the blame,

But I’ll only burn brighter,

Wildfires can devour whole states,

Destruction guaranteed,

But it will not carry these weights,

As soon as the fire is freed.

You thought you would win?

I fought the fight,

Now I’ve made the life I now get to begin,

I burned for that light,

The rain can only pour for so long,

The wind only carries the embers,

Because you could never admit you were wrong,

I refuse to be a member.

You were the storm,

But I was a wildfire,

The worst you could do was make me transform,

Make me change my desire.

I wish you the best,

Stop waisting your time,

Our family failed every basic test,

You can watch me below as I start to climb.
