POEM STARTER

Write a poem in a different genre to your usual comfort zone.

This poem can be in any style and with any theme, but try to write in a genre that you wouldn't normally try.

You Arent Me

You say you’ve been here before

That you’ve done this too

No you haven’t

I’m not you

You dont know the kids my age

You dont know what I pay

Bullied and judged for what I say

Even worse that I’m gay

School is harder then it ever was

Aren’t you happy I’m not doing drugs?

I need special items for a day at school

These things don’t make me ‘cool’

APD, Autism, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety

The days are hard enough without you denying me

You compare yourself to me

Every single day you see

Toughen up, suck it up

How the fuck is life fair, buttercup?

You act like we’re the same

Did you get caught up in the game?

I am me, you are you

How has thst not gotten through??

You say you’ve done what I’m doing

Every sport, step, and muscle pull I’m going?

I’ll stay in wait till time is done

Because I cannot get up and run

I wait in the room

Like it’s a tomb

Waiting for you to see

I’m not you, and you aren’t me

(This is based off a recent feeling ive had lately. There might be hidden meanings behind some lines btw)
