POEM STARTER
Out of Reach
Write a poem about something that always seems just out of reach.
This Is Me
When you look at me,
I don’t know what to think.
Are you laughing, are you judging,
Are you just saying hi?
When you look at me,
What do you see?
A happy, loving girl,
Or an ugly freak?
When you laugh at me,
Or say that I’m not worth it,
It hurts inside,
It _hurts. _

And I don’t know what to believe.
Am I the useless scrap you say I am?
Or am I _more_
__
Than the mold you try and force me in?
I wish I didn’t care,
I wish you didn’t stare.
But at the end of the day,
The day,
I say,
This is me.
Exactly what you see,
I don’t care what you think,
Cause this is me.
So I’m done living in your lies,
Not good enough, not pretty enough,
Dumber, ruder, hateful,
Not worth anyone’s love.
Because I _know_,
Deep down inside that dark whole
You carved into me,
That I am enough, for _me. _
__
This me,
I’m who I want to be,
I don’t care what you say,
Cause _this _is me.
