The memories of longing reached for her under the cloudless sky.

No more could she frolic in the past,

Seeing as the future called her forward.

Though nostalgia held its grip tight,

And she struggled to free,

She moved forward.

Into the light,

Into a new life,

Ready to strive.

Memories would not carry her forth,

This sea would only drown her,

So she stepped out.

Stepped down the hall,

Took a right,

Up the stairs,

All in hopes of finding better.

When a cross section came,

She picked the one the should challenge her most,

Since growth doesn’t come from within comfort.

And at the end of her journey,

She was satisfied.
