POEM STARTER
Playing With Fire.
Write a poem which uses this as the central theme.
I Know
I remember the day
He confessed to me,
The overly cheesy words,
The cringey way
He spoke.
Though I said
“Yes,”
With naught else but
A simple warning.
“You know,
You’re playing with fire.”
He took my warning lightly,
He knew my fire shone brightly,
Yet he still played the game,
A futile attempt to tame
What’s inside me.
He’d show me off,
_God how he makes me scoff_,
But at least he treated me decent.
_Decent…_
He ticked me off
Beyond belief,
But when you play
With a flame like me
You’ll be burned beyond belief.
He treated me like a toy
As time went on,
_Oh lord I can’t wait_
_Until I burn him ‘til he’s gone._
__
He drives me insane,
Our conversations are bland,
Boring, dull,
So plain.
Soon enough though,
I know he’ll see,
I know he’ll burn
For playing with a fire like me.
