WRITING OBSTACLE

Write a scene where the characters say ‘I love you’ without actually saying the words ‘I love you’.
What non-verbal things express love?
Love
When you walked in on my crying,
An ugly red-blotched face,
My eyes blue and broken.
I wanted to die.
Without a word, you ran to me,
Held me, pulling me into your chest.
You let me collapse.
I was crying, and you let me,
And you didn’t mind,
How my tears stained your shirt,
And _you let me_ _break_.
That never happens.
God, I was still sobbing,
Shaking as I tried to hold on to you,
Because I didn’t think I could last,
If you ever let go.
Please don’t let go.
And then it’s over,
But you’re still here.
I’m better for now, and you didn’t leave.
You’re still here,
Laughing,
Even when I’m not funny,
And I go insane,
Whenever you smile.
The little creases by your eyes,
How your whole face lights up.
And then your fingertips graze mine,
As you gently hold my face,
And I am long gone.
I never believed you could care about me.
But then I look at you,
And you stare back as if I’m worthy,
As if I have done anything good enough,
To possibly deserve you.
As if I make the room a home,
As if you don’t know,
How utterly helpless I am…
As if you could love me.
As if you already do.
