i don’t want

to be

a weed

within this

sea of flowers


and yet

of course

how can i

not when

i am

no flower


maybe i’m

a tree

reaching towards

the

sky


or maybe a

fern

dipping towards

damp

soil


or maybe

i am

a simple weed

spreading and

drowning out

everyone else


by stealing

what they

need

most
