POEM STARTER
Confession.
Write a poem, with a set structure, which centres around the theme of confession.
Is It Time For Me To Die?
The fluorescent street lights
Weren’t the only thing keeping me awake at night
There were the thoughts
A bunch coming in, lots
The blade going through his neck
The guilt I carry is a reck
I want to be free, take this weight of my back
To take my thoughts and leave it on a rack
But I wasn’t ready to go through the consequence
The pay back of life, to confess
I’ve done it before
Just not it rotting me to the core
I will be ruined
The thought flew in
Once again
Feeling of adrenaline
His head being smashed by the bat
Scared, filled with terror just as a rat
I can’t confess
But I can’t live a life that’s so dense
Is it time for me to die?
For the nights to disappear and say goodbye?
To receive the karma
To end the drama
To flee
To be
Now I’m in a room that’s all white
Now my death was as close as a kid losing his kite
I get pulled out of the room
The last thing I see in it was a broom
Now the deal was here
The end of my years
But I put on a smile
A smile of my life of denial
And slash
The end of the painful rash.
