All on my own

Not a sound to be heard

No tick tock of a clock

Only my breath and heart

To fast as I pace

Tears in my eyes

But they never release

I fall to my knees

By the desk

Reaching for my blade

I cut and cut

The pain is gone

Tears now flow

I’m broken and torn

Almost gone

But I can keep going

At least for now
