My eyes burst open to a bright, searing white light. My head buzzing with a low ring in my ears, I pat myself down looking for any injuries. I lean over to check my legs and feet but my right foot is backwards. I don’t even feel it. Am I going to lose it? I think.

I look around trying to get my bearings. I see a helicopter in the middle of the building through the now broken glass partition. It looks like it crashed into the helipad on the roof. I can see the tail poking through and it seems to be moving a little. The floor shifting under its weight. I wonder how many floors it’s gone through. I look around the room to see if anyone is alive, but I see no movement.

There were six of us in this room, when the meeting started. I only see two others not including myself. The two I do see, one is entirely decapitated. The window sliced clean through her neck. I don’t even see her head, just her slumped body in against the wall. The other person is across the room still in his chair, but his head, it’s smashed; almost like a pumpkin. There’s large beam floating above him. It must of fell on his head. I didn’t even know these two, not even their names.

I call out for anyone “hello, is anyone there”. There’s no response. The ringing in my ears starts to fade and I hear a blood curdling scream a little farther away but it seems to be getting closer. Suddenly, I see someone’s body falling from an above floor walkway and then another, then a handful more. It must of snapped under the weight.

Confused, I search frantically for my phone, thankfully it’s still on. I scroll through my call history and click on their number. It rings and rings but finally a click. Before they can say anything I scream

“What the fuck did you do? You said you’d wait till I was in the clear.” and then another click.

They hung up on me, I think before I pass out again.
