Just when you think that your wounds are healing

They are torn open yet again

Why can’t I just have a break?

Deeper

More raw

Than any other pain

They say

It’s better to have loved and lost

Than to never have loved at all

But it’s been years

Years of wondering

If they ever think of me

If I’m overreacting

If they even care I’m gone

So I disagree

Losing someone is the worst pain

And I dream

Of a day

When I’ll see

The lost ones

Again

Because you never realize how important someone is to you

Until they’re gone

Stabbing pain

Overwhelming pain

Could I have done something different?

My world

Tilted sideways

My friends

Will tell me to get over it

But I can’t

I don’t know how

And I’m not sure I want to

I’d rather live

In my head

With the imaginary people

I’ve lost

Than be with the people

In reality

That will never know me

Like they did

Broken.
