Write a Tanka on the theme of Friendship.
A Tanka is a short form of poetry with 5 lines; 5 syllables in the first line, then 7, then 5, then 7, and 7 in the last (5,7,5,7,7).
The Little Lifeboat Of Friendship
Lifeboat of friendship,
Alone in oceans of hurt,
We trust and have faith.
And I hope you enjoy me,
Half as much as I need you.
Waves are relentless,
But we hold on together.
Don’t betray my trust.
Don’t throw me over the side.
I love you too much for that.
Small friendship lifeboat,
We’ll push and fight through it all,
Clinging for dear life.
Hoping we won’t drown, but know,
I would gladly drown with you.
