Words are wasted on those who don’t listen

I feel utterly alone

Isolated,

Like a shade I move through the house

Effortlessly silent,

But I’m screaming.

My dress gently brushes against the floor

Soft movements

Numb across my body I float

Now I’m outside

I rub my arm and sigh

It feels like days since I’ve spoken

When no one listens you tend to stop.

I’ll wait till you notice something’s wrong

Maybe you won’t

Not until after I begin living in my own mind.

And with a burning fire in my throat

And solace from my sheets

I gently weep in my room

Alone.
