Writing Prompt

POEM STARTER

‘To forget was to forgive, and I knew I would never forget.’

Write a poem that ends with this line.

Forgiveness

I overlooked your faults

I tried to forget

All the hurt you bestowed

Were knifes in my heart

I want to take away all the pain

All the emotions I shared alone

I can not forgive

Its embedded in my heart

How could you forgive

Something you could never forget ?...

Forgive, But Never Forget

I don’t plan to ever forget that day.

If I do I might as well be dead.

Because you can’t just say

Yep

Everything

Is

Fine

When really

It isn’t.

To forget was to forgive. And I knew I would never forget...

Cut

words cut like knifes, cutting you until you drop,

They say they dont mean it but still rip my heart out?

“Im sorry”

It’s always the same and nothing changes but

But then I hear them again and again,

I cry and get up like nothing.

I’ve accepted it and walk away because to forget was to forgive, and I knew I would never forget....

Forgive And Forget

You can point the finger

You can blame me

For the disillusion of your life

Make me the villain

Make me the enemy

I guess that’s fine

Punish me for loving you

But let the judgement fit the crime

All I ever did

Was love you

In this life

Wanted to be everything

Give everything

Do anything to make you happy

Time and space

Couldn’t have kept me away

Would have travel anywhere

Don’t you ...

Grudge

Holding onto this was agony, so they asked me to relent.

But to forget was to forgive, and I would never forget....

Forget

It’s too hard to forget, but forgiveness isn’t based on me forgetting.

She said to forget, but my mind and heart can’t forgive.

Whey should I forget, since it’s too hard to forgive?

To forget was to forgive, and I knew I would never forget....

The Missing Piece

A flashback darted through my memory,

So quick and so sudden,

like lightening,

Leaving a burning imprint on my mind,

Smoking and black,

Telling myself its just a fleeting memory,

Of a dream perhaps,

Its nothing, just forget it,

The memory creeps back in more and more,

Suddenly I feel the fear that was instilled in me,

I now know this wasn't a dream,

A memory, so dark and furious,

It pl...

Made Wrong

If only I wanted to be here

Maybe I would have

If I was prettier

Smarter

Funnier

Maybe I was built wrong

Maybe whoever made me forgot to read the instructions

They didn’t tighten my boobs enough

They made them too small

They forgot to straighten my hair

It’s too curly

Too frizzy

They must’ve forgotten the eye drops

I’m stuck with a boring brown

No freckles

Nothing interesting except

Flaws

That’s a...

Never Forget

You hurt me and you know it,

But you pretend and don’t show it.

You love her in front of me,

And my heart breaks each time you leave,

But in reality

I never had you in the first place.

I thought we had something,

But you played with all my feeling.

I laid them bare in front of you,

And you brushed them off

as something untrue.

So to the memory of us I cry,

No matter how hard I try.

To Forget

I would never forget

The time she walked into my life

I would never forget

The way her hair felt in my hands

I would never forget

The way she smiled with her eyes

Eyes like the sun

lighting up inside

I would never forget

The way she smelled when coming home late

I would never forget

The way I and others smiled at her

because her smile was too hard to forget

I would never forget

The way her lips pu...
