Sink or Swim

Hands outstretched

The only thing to grasp;

my escaping breath

How did it come to this?

It would be a stretch to say I don’t know

Though pushed into the deep end,

T’was I who approached the depths

The plunge is only natural.

but seemed it futile,

leaving Mother Nature to her cause

Her embrace smothering.

Overlapping echoe...

But yet I am going away

Forever till the end

It stretches or shortens

At the minute

Soon you will be next to me

And I stretch out my hand

To bring you in

Into the gates of hope...

Longing.

In the blink of an eyes.

Wishing for us to stay,

But time just flies.

Her back bent to planting

Spring after spring

Until winter stiff

Froze its stretch

A long stretch

Her life of planting

Seeds still growing

Four children and ten grand

Her memory lost

Like an autumnal dandelion head

Seeds overstretched, blown

Into the wind, nothing left

Her days done, family bereft

Only one seed left to plant

Her body stretched

Into the earth....

The Art of Stretching

I stretch in the grass,

My hands lay flat,

Flowers smell like sweet perfume,

And even the wind blows away my fume.

My fingers stretch apart,

They slide without fault upon the grass,

Curling up and falling down.

My arms curve above my head

Like a I’m holding up the land.

My legs stretch down,

And my neck curves around,

Around at the sky and

Around as I lie.

The land stretches on fart...

Stretch the truth just a little

So that I can believe in my ability to bend this way

Like a pretzel

Or the “truth” you spoke this morning

That anyone could stretch in temperatures like these

And find themselves refreshed

Like cold water

On my ever drying tongue

To compliment my form is a bit of a stretch

As I am tilting in the front row

Like a buffoon

Juxtaposing the gods around me

Double Jeopardy Of Love

I threw love on the other side so it can stretch out. Blindly knowing what destiny laid out. Choices unraveling. Heavy thoughts weighed out leaving a clear path for the other hand to play out.

Fingers moved so relaxed across the soul, swiftly spreading a vibe. Touching the spirit. A gentle stretch occurred as they got loose, ready to grab what lied ahead. Acting on pure feelings each tip breathe...
