Corporate Kakistocracy

The squeakiest wheel gets the grease,

But I’m quiet as a mouse.

Taken advantage of, getting fleeced,

Despite my business nous.


Others with vocal advocates,

Nepotism is strong.

Knowing that I am up for it,

But not making a song.


Actions speak louder than words they say,

But closed mouths don’t get fed.

The whingiest whiners, they get their way,

The rest of us — left for dead.


Then when the quiet...

Zenith

The apple didn’t just fall far from the tree,

It crossed the cosmic threshold into another dimension

And fell on Newton’s head.


Law of Attraction states

We attract what we think we deserve.

Waterboarded with your toxic positivity

And false sense of hospitality.


You never intended for me to walk into your abode

And put my feet up on the coffee table like I owned the place.

And feel filthy as it bubbles in your stomach

If they weren’t so common

What beautiful God sent creatures!

With soft and powdery, puffy features

You can’t see with your soul closed

Open the door, don’t be so opposed

Would you like your heart to be full?

With memories and wonders

And love and ...

Talking used to be my forte,

I used to chatter on and on again.

But to my very much dismay,

the summer had to begin.
