Chapter 3

Look at them

So innocent and young

Look way, way, down

At the kids, on the merry go round

They play and laugh

And don’t think that

People will judge what they say

Because they say it every day

But I know better

We’re not birds of a feather

But I’ll agree with him

So I’m not stuck in

My isolated tower

And I can stay in power

Even if I need to keep quiet

Because they mustn’t start a ...

Pick a card

Any card

I’ll say it will get you far

I shuffled the deck

I promise you

You can trust me, through and through

Oh, no! Look at that!

You wasted your money!

On a man with a mask and a hat!

What a shame,

I promise I didn’t try

To scam and to lie

It just happened!

It’s how I was raised!

I have to make money some way!

Alas,

No I’m trapped

In bars and a mat

It’s not my fault

They deci...

I used to be a kid

I used to not know

What got rid

Of all the people

I used to be a child

I did not realize

That the thoughts than ran wild

Weren’t made by what’s behind my eyes

I used to be nƤive

And never knew to care

About the time I used to plead

To live and play elsewhere

I used to be a fool

Who danced in the rain

I thought I could self-rule

Goodbye, that’s all I have to say...

The Hanged Man

Wait for me

Across the sea, you wait for me

Through the endless night, I see only you

In the stars,

In the moon,

And everything between.

You glow so bright in your radiance

A peace I have never known,

A quiet I am no longer scared to embrace.

Do you even know the sanctuary you left behind in your trace?

One that I so desperate cling onto in your absence.

Do you see me in what I left behind?

Do...

The Lovers

When I saw you time stood still.

All reasoning was bent at will.

You were not a gift but a flame.

I had questions like what was your name.

I reached—

Wanting you to know all of me.

Your gaze fierce and kind.

Revealed the god we’ve left behind.

We are not perfect but we choose,

To rise , to fall, to win, to loose.

No fate, not force but a holy dare—

To stand in love, stripped and bare.

So let them...

Turning Of The Wheel

I stare down at the tabled card,

Like deciphering a rune.

Then it stabs me like a shard,

It is the Wheel of Fortune.

Normally a sight to behold,

Reflecting change or karma.

But upside down, truth be told,

It symbolises drama.

Whether clinging to control,

Or stuck within a rut.

Change becomes the goal,

No ifs or ands or buts.

I think of what this means to me,

The aspects of my life.

That must be...

Under the Moon

A silver path, half-lit, half-lost,

Winds through dreams and tangled frost.

The world asleep, but shadows wake—

Whispers stir the mirrored lake.

The Moon looks down with veiled eyes,

Hiding truth in starless skies.

A wolf howls low, a dog replies,

Each tethered to their own disguise.

The lobster climbs from depths below,

Drawn to secrets it can’t know.

Its claws reflect the past, undone,

Yet sti...

The Fool

Why welcome young man

I’ve been expecting you

Call me the future

What lies ahead

You’ve been called to this here path

With nothing but a small sack

Of simple belongings

You have no wits

No intelligence

But curiosity beyond any I have seen

You are ready

Aren’t you?

Well let’s see

You come upon

A forked path

What lies at the end of the left path is riches

Greed

You’ll never be content

But yo...

Welcome All and Gods Above

May the blessing of the Goddess

And all her Gods be upon you tonight

I respected the Gods- if they existed

And when suited to me I ask for their

assistance

Since I haven’t attended anything of this sort

It had been years and years

Today is the day on which we celebrated the end

And the beginning of the great cycle

The Great Goddess gave birth to her firstborn

Her son, Lord of the Gods
