Foundation

Liv

1 min read

The roots of the tree, the building foundation of a life;

They’re minds brilliant and as sharp as a knife.

The grandparents, the parents, the young.

Just like the roots, the trunk, the leaves for some fall fun!

Growing a tree can show you a family’s stages,

The age of the different areas of a tree ranges.

The deep roots are the upbringing of you,

Everyone should appreciate the deep roots, so do!...

Fear

The thought of going back to school ignited a fire in my brain

School has all of these ideas circling a track, it’s a train

Some good, some bad

I’m ashamed of some of the ideas I had

A dream I had a long time ago

Was all about the first day of school, uh oh

I got to the building and looked in the glass

To my messed up and weird class

My dream, maybe nightmare, was crazy from what I saw

All I can...

Night Owl

Liv

1 min read

I never was an early riser,

I was the kind to pull those all-nighters

I didn’t have the same feeling of others with the morning sunshine,

I didn’t get those feelings of great beauty where it sent shivers down my spine

I was used to seeing the moon’s light,

Showing such difference in the darkest night

The moon was my sun, gifting me joyful times

Gifting so much joy, I can turn it into rhymes

Knoebels

Liv

1 min read

In Pennsylvania, there’s an amusement park.

It’s called Knoebels, and it’s the best thing ever.

First time I went, I was only a little kid,

And going on my first rollercoaster almost made me sick.

It’s like the worst best feeling ever,

Getting on that little, or big, rollercoaster.

You have to idea what to expect, go with the flow.

It’ll start going fast as soon as it’s done going slow.

The 6 ho...

Diamond In The Rough

Liv

Marissa. A new school. New life.

You can cut the tension with a knife.

Old cheer captain and best friend.

But, now, notes and texts are all she can send.

She doesn’t know what to do, where to go.

The spot in her life right now is pretty low

She was popular before in her hometown,

All that lays on her face now is a frown.

She was a gem in a comfortable place,

Here, it’s an awkward moment and spac...

The Awakening Of An Awakening

Liv

1 min read

As I lay crying in my bed,

I just remember everything that I said.

How could I be so rude to my own mom?

The words that came out of my mouth couldn’t have been more wrong.

I fall asleep to sadness and anger,

Not stable anymore like an anchor.

My “nightmare” is making me experience the pain

So empathy is what I will gain.

I have my awakening in two ways:

Actually waking up the next day,

And my a...

Try

Liv

1 min read

Take your shot stranger, you only get one.

This is a quote I’ve been told my whole life.

When the people reading this are scared to try something, your brain tells you to not do it.

It’s a defense mechanism to an unknown world. But, sometimes you only have one try. And if you miss that opportunity, you can’t do it again.

That is why you should always be willing to take a shot and try something new...

Nightmare Of A Dream

Liv

1 min read

I sit in my bed at the strike of midnight.

I live in a place where there are no stars in sight.

I lay down to go to bed,

On my little comfy pillow where I rest my head.

I wake up and find myself under a tree

As red and as tall as can be.

The stars in the sky are shining so bright

But the sky at home is just the black night.

Why do I keep coming back here?

I don’t know where this could be near.

Uncertainty

Liv

1 min read

My best friend betrays me,

Her good side was all I seen.

I don’t know why she did.

Who’s left to trust?

My mother stole my happiness away,

But the only thing I can do is stay.

Why is this happening to me.

Who’s left to trust?

My boyfriend leaves,

To help my sadness, I sleep.

Why all this to me?

Who’s left to trust?

To focus on myself, I must

Find someone full of love, not lust.

Someone who does...

The Aftermath

Liv

1 min read

The day was dreadful, suspenseful, scary.

A bunch of weight on my shoulders, I carry.

I never meant to hurt her,

I was just honest, then it all went in a blur.

I’m home now, crying to myself.

She’s probably crying as well to herself.

I don’t know how apologize and make this better,

Maybe I could send a text, call, write a letter.

Maybe I should just not do anything, not say sorry.

I’m sorry, I’m...
