Mr. Knubbs

Clementine

2 min read

When I was six, my parents and I went to our neighbors garage sale.I was bored, scuffing my feet while my parents talked and talked for what felt like hours. I disinterestedly dug through boxes, hoping to find a toy or a doll. At the bottom of one such box was a blanket; I pulled it aside curiously and saw something fluffy and brown. I pulled it out and squealed with delight, hugging a round-belli...

Chaos

Clementine

1 min read

Fire, fire

Burning, screaming, running

Dust rising in plumes

Display racks collapsed

Women in colorful hats and long gowns tripping

Falllng over heels, stones and fear

Everyone in a rush!

Rushing, rushing

Pushing, shoving

Hurry there before it’s all out!

It’s the black friday sale at the local walmart!...

The Dreaming Fawn

Clementine

1 min read

Covered in slime,

Freshly born like a seed sprouting through the soil

Reaching its head up towards sunlight

Bleating its terror and surprise

Eyes unseeing

Voices unheard

Deep in the forest

A fawn is born

Stumbling about

on skinnywobbly legs

Stiff and awkward

A begginer trying to learn its trade

He’s covered in splotches, spots and patches

Young ruffian bounding

Through grass green and new

Deserted Doors

Clementine

1 min read

This door is deserted

Covered by sand

No feet have walked through it

Or trode on this trodden on land

This door is cracked

Riddled with holes

No one to solve the mystery

Of this abandoned wreck

which might’ve been a place

where lovers once met

This door is falling down

It’s at its strengths end

It can’t hold itself up anymore

The wind batters at its entrance

Behind the door, emptiness

emptiness ...

The Brew

Clementine

2 min read

**Monday**: I’ve always been a brewist. They say my lattes have magical healing powers. Yeah right. That I must be some kind of _witch. _Ridiculous; I mean, honestly if I really had healing powers, I would quit my job. But I can’t.

I would say my lattes have more of a malignant power than that. The power to keep you awake, like,24 hours; No, seriously. I get customers all the time coming in who l...

The Book of Liars

Clementine

1 min read

My heart

Otherwise known

As the book of liars

Why may you ask

Do I call my heart by this name

It’s only because

Of the solitude and pain

Caused every time

Someone lies about something

Sure I forgive

And sure I do give

But apologies are meaningless

If my heart takes it in

I’ve got 200 names

Or more

Written in

This sorrowful journal

I keep locked within...

The Mountain Man

Clementine

1 min read

No one knows the mountain man

Except for where he lives

They know the mountain man lives in the mountains

In a cave, or maybe a ditch

The mountain man climbs

Up to the highest point

His scruffy hair blows

He spreads his uncovered toes

And trumpets to the sky

A big brass trumpet

And the notes float away

Into the summer night

And then the mountain man

climbs down

and skips and rolls

“A jolly existen...

High Above the City

Clementine

1 min read

High above the city, on the bridge between clouds, lived a dragon named Abba. Abba had lived for centuries and centuries. He slumbered and floated about, but never went down to the bustling city below. He was a dreadfully lonely creature, his elongated snout often resting between his claws as he gazed wistfully down upon the human lands.

One twighlight tinged morning, Abba was observing a little ...
