Let Me Explain

Avari Inscho

4 min read

It’s the middle of November and I’m trudging through three feet of snow because, much to my dismay, bodies don’t just bury themselves.

Now before you get your panties in a twist, let me explain…

10 years ago, I was 14 years old and America was in the midst of civil war. My older brother and father were sent away to fight, for freedom of course. I was left behind, I was a “girl” and wasn’t allow...

All In A Blue Moon

Avari Inscho

1 min read

Beneath a tree, silent cries.

Up in the sky, no surprise.

Spirit of Chakor, watch tears pour.

The moon always knew, she’d explore.

Young girl, big dreams

Always hoping, heart of sunbeams.

But on this night,

she’s strewn in blue.

Hear the call of the loon.

Watch her typhoon.

All in a blue moon....

The Light Of Hope

Avari Inscho

1 min read

Once upon a time, fields seemed to go on forever.

Skipping through dancing grass,

White Lillie’s pure, young, and clever.

Just me, and in the distance a lonely lass.

As I approached she looks down,

I match her gaze, we stare at the ground.

In the end, we became friends.

For years we made amends.

Things change, hairs grey, life fades.

My life stayed. Now the grounds cold.

I run my fingers over...

The Park

Avari Inscho

1 min read

Out the window into the dark

Lays the sleeping park

The chill of dusk

a stark contrast

To the children normally about

But oh! Yellow sun?

To where do you stand?

illuminating a park in another land?

Kids of my land lay tucked tight

Dreaming for the end of night.

The lonesome park in the eerie streetlight

Still and silent, out of sight.

“Oh sun! Must you have to go?

We don’t wish to head to ...

Truths Wrath

1 min read

I lay in a cave with shadows.

I watch as shadow figures toil,

Their gazes always down.

We were taught to fight the light,

To never see color.

One day I grow restless and I look up.

My eyes burn but I can’t turn away

As tears fall down my face.

I feel my soul and heart tearing a painful thing that lasts

But I hear a calling and through the light I go

Every foot step is heavy and pained

Every sec...

The Right Light

Avari Inscho

1 min read

As the bright light of hope burns red

It sinks lower and lower taking away light

The shadows dance abandoning bed

I sit back and watch the darkness flight

The cold moon glow of a day gone

It’s judgementsal eyes looking down

A look of sincerity and regret like none

It’s dim light right and profound.

I miss the warm glow of hopes face.

The fleeting sins of moonlight’s sake

Send chills at a ghas...

Dying Whispers

Avari Inscho

1 min read

Towering over are shade creators

Basking in glory of the sun

We stand small but are the nominaters

Trees stay still and never done

The wind whispers storys around

branches stirring in admiration

Story’s bounce around with hardly a sound

We stand short in gods creation.

The whispers of the trees are so quiet

Although mighty, and all knowing

We stand short and unseeing

The wisdom around us tak...
