look around you

lesa

1 min read

running under the street lights

a spiked drink in my left hand

cigarette in the other one

heart speeding and smile widening

lost friends looking for me

as I let myself free

dangerous eyes around me

permanent hands on my body

a destroyed temple

I just don’t care

hurts less to do so

drink my way up to heaven

as I take the stairs down

I’m not scared

I’ve already met the devil

it’s not a demon w...

Second to myself

lesa

1 min read

The love inside me flows beautifully

Into my loved one’s hearts

Into stranger’s souls

Leaving none for me

The guitar in my room, untouched

The drawings in my artbook, unfinished

My energy, stolen

Your soft eyes hid well that twisted soul of yours

Lost myself in you...

"I’m not in the mood," I exhale, feeling the heavy figure against my chest as his hands explore my body. They freeze. He shifts his weight and takes my hand in his, soothing.

I let myself drown in his ocean eyes full of sweetness and adoration. He softly kisses my cheek.

"Thank you for telling me" he reassures.

"I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t say it right now"

"Good, I want you to talk to me." ...

It could've been you

The wooden bridge is unsteady, a storm approaching

I look left, the forest looks back at me

I hear the trees rustle, inviting me

into the fog, the uncertainty, the unknown

A warm breeze caresses my cheek to my right,

and there you stand

With your green needy eyes, your gaze burning me

Comfort and familiarity painted on your face

Decision weighs on my chest, heavy

My heart aches for what coul...

Was there ever light?

lesa

1 min read

Dark. Hollow. Where's the light? I don't think there ever was light. A wave of sadness, grief, emptiness, or whatever it is, passes through my body. I feel it in every bone, organ, through my nervous system to my brain. I'm drowning again.

I've signed up for dance classes; why did I do that again? Have I forgotten about my aching bones and lack of motivation? The sky is ugly blue, sun blinding m...

Where does he live?

"he WHAT?" I blurt out, nails digging into the bed sheets. My other half looks away, biting her green polished nails. I’m sure I’ve never felt this level of hate and violence before, and I suddenly understand why people commit murder. I breathe deeply as I attempt to calm down, but my tight jaw and wide enraged eyes betray my internal conflict.

A man, or rather I say monster, had the audacity to ...

as you battle your own agonizing mind

stuck in that familiar hollow bed

your dry skin against the soft silk sheets

you’re back there again

stuck in that familiar hollow bed

the rash deepens as you weep

you’re back there again

tears dance along

the sombre song you played for the last...

Sweetness and sin - short version

lesa

1 min read

"Have you heard of all the horrifying killings recently?"

"How can I not, it’s been all over the place. Honestly, it gives me the creeps. No wonder people stay in." I say, massaging my stiff temples as I lean on the door frame. The lady I bumped into is my building’s lovely nurse. My gaze runs over her face down her body, as if she was the most precious artifact my eyes set on.

_God, she's stunni...

Suffocating love

You tighten the noose around my neck until I'm out of breath.

Yet, I help you tighten it even more.

Yet, I'm grateful for the air that enters my black lungs.

Yet, I always come back to you.

You cut my skin and let it bleed out.

Yet, I apologize for letting it drop on your dry carpet.

Yet, I let you kiss the scars you carved.

Yet, I always come back to you.

As you tighten the noose, I won...
