Lay Down. Stay!

Writing Prompt: June 19 - "Write from the perspective of a family puppy adapting to a newborn baby coming home for the first time."

Ohhhh why haven't they put it outside yet?

When I was little and whined like that, I was placed in the backyard expeditiously. I don't know what makes this furless wonder any different, but for some reason when he whines and whines and whines they just hold him and cuddle him longer!

Not to mention his whines are so much louder than mine. Mine are cute and like the whistles of angels. His sound like someone constantly stands on his tail.

See? Even when they give him his own mat he doesn't know how to circle around and make his little space. He just keeps yowling! I wonder if he's damaged. He doesn't seem to be able to do anything that a puppy should be able to. Just the basics - roll over..sit...paw....

I do have to hand it to him, he is the best stay-er I've ever met.
