A forensic agent is forced to go on the run because of what they uncovered on their last case.

Case File: HL_311818191

Time/Date: May 1st, [REDACTED]

Location: University of Venator, [REDACTED]

Briefing: Student Diana Terensids is the primary suspect in a brutal massacre at the university she attended. There were 28 reported bodies, including the Dean of Students [REDACTED]. Dean [REDACTED] was found dead on the fourth floor of Shadow's Hall where his office resides. It is suspected that Terensids shot Dean [REDACTED] and the other victims were trying to apprehend her. Causes of death range from gunshots to stabbings to one victim falling from a third story window onto the pavement below.

There are a number of oddities to consider for this case.

First item was the attire of the victims. Aside from Dean [REDACTED], all the victims were dressed in robes. Some bore strange, unknown symbols on their forehead. A moistened mixture of ashes and salt adorned almost half of the victims. All marked victims had the same two symbols: a single dot in an isolated lower left corner over the right eye and an arrow pointing over their left eye. Any names or affiliations of the victims are being investigated.

Second item to consider is the location of Dean [REDACTED]. Though his office resides on the floor in which he was found, he was not found in his office. Rather, he was found in a hidden, undocumented room close to his office. The room was not unlike that of a ritual room with five spires linked with golden chains. Strange writing similar to that of the markings on some of the victims adorned the wall behind the spires; the two symbols even appearing in the writing.

It's theorized the university was some kind of front for occult or some kind of pagan religious practices; it is unclear if Dean [REDACTED] was aware of this or not. Following Terensids' attack, it seems as though half of the alumni as well as fifteen of the staff vacated the campus. For some, this confirms the suspicion that the university was a front of some kind.

"I've heard enough."

"Don't you want to know the investigator's name?"

"Not really. I have a good idea who it is."

"Where is he?"

"After the Dean showed his true colors, the university fell, and I was abandoned, he fled when he found out he was assigned to this case."

"Where'd he go?"

"He made for the trenches."

"How far do you think he'll get?"

"Not far. The Keeper sent some Hunters after him for me under the promise I'd be right behind them once we finish tying up these loose ends."
