POEM STARTER
Write a poem centred around the theme of guardian angels.
What could this mean to different people?
Velvet Blood
Your wings wrap around my body
Through mists of
despair,
Tears rolling down my cheeks,
Yet—you ease them with care.
Your heart,
Stained with thick velvet blood,
Suffocating your limbs.
But still you smile,
Mending the wounds I carved into my skin.
You shield me
From the knives
That tear through your
Soul.
Knowing,
I wouldn’t ever manage alone.
Your pulse keeps time of the rhythm
of my breathe,
Easing the pain growing tightly
in my chest.
I hold your hand,
knowing I shall be safe,
Trusting every slightest fragile step,
We take.
