POEM STARTER
"Love is the lie that keeps us alive."
Use this as the first or last line of a poem in any style.
Where’s My Love Story?
Love is the lie that keeps us alive.
Yet I crave it with my every being.
I’ve heard the tales of heartbreak,
The stories of new and old.
And I still want it.
My heart.
It’s mine to give,
And I give away foolishly.
Little crushes that never last.
Because experiencing love is like a drug.
One that I want to try,
But maybe I’m too young.
I read and read and read,
Taking my dose that way,
But I want it in real life.
I know love is a lie,
I know it’ll break me,
But at least I can add my tale to all the rest.
Where’s my love story?
Don’t I deserve one?
Break me
Torture me
Kill me if you must.
I don’t care.
I just want to live.
Where’s my love story?
