Write a story where your main character is connected to the mafia.
They could have a relative who is tied to the gang, be a member who wants out, a love story between members, whatever pathway you choose!
Which Mafia?
There's so many types of Mafia. Is this prompt restricting us to the Italian variety?
Because I dunno but I think Martin Scorsese has written the book on that.
I want to write about the Chinese mafia in San Francisco.
In the Bay Area they are called Tongs. Ckubs that Chinese immigrants started and have been taken over by seedier elements.
The tongs work this way. They control the gambling, drug trade, human trafficking and protection racket in Chinatown.
You are usually born into a tong but also accept members.
The initiation rite is brutal. And then you're a member forever.
