POEM STARTER
Submitted by EnglishGirl112
Lost in the fog
Alone in the deep
Bound by a promise
That he couldn’t keep.
Write a poem that ends with this stanza. The rest of your poem should match the structure and rhyme scheme.
Promise.
It’s fell before,
His choices crashed down,
And that, he ignored—
He let himself drown
Along with them:
Ones he held dear,
Died, lost, overwhelmed,
Without his hands near.
Hypnotized by,
The “good” in his head,
But that “good” lies,
Drenched in others dread.
When he snapped out
Of the brainwashing,
He vouched to clear doubts,
Erase his wrongdoings.
It did not last,
He could not defeat,
His addictive past,
Trauma that repeats.
So, more he drowns,
His choices still leave,
He made his hell bown,
A scab he lets bleed.
Now he’s alone,
Letting the world scold,
That he now will roam,
With his joy now sold,
Lost in the fog,
Alone in the deep,
Bound by a promise,
That he couldn’t keep.
