POEM STARTER
The Revelation
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, using this as the title.
The Revelation
In the stillness of a solitary night,
Beneath the cold and distant light,
I saw your face, once dear and bright,
And understood the truth.
Your laughter, echoing in the air,
Once filled with joy, now hollow, bare,
I reached for you, but you weren't there,
A ghost of love, a faded flare.
No thunder, no earth-shattering roar,
Just a soft whisper, a silent door,
That creaked open to reveal,
You never cared, you never felt.
I looked back on the days we shared,
The memories, the dreams we wove,
Now tattered, faded, beyond repair,
A love that was never truly loved.
The future I envisioned crumbles,
A castle built on shifting sands,
Now washed away, leaving me numb,
With only empty promises.
So here's to the dream that died,
To the love that never was, never tried,
To the truth that cuts like a knife,
But sets me free, cuts the tie.
